Box Score Byron Center, Mich. – The Saints put up a fight against RV Davenport in the cross town match up. The Saints held off on scoring until the second period when Nick Dashner swept in and dusted the Panthers. Gavin Rozema added two more in the third.
Davenport 6, Aquinas 3
The game started with a play that landed an early goal for the Panthers. This drove momentum for the rest of the game. The Saints had the first penalty of the night which was followed by a goal from DU on a power play. This put the Saints behind 0-2.
The second period was started the same way the last period ended. Davenport secured another goal on a power play. The Saints did not let that stop them. Davenport got a penalty putting the Saints up a man. Justin Lagrow sent the puck to Evan Doan who added a perfect pass to Dashner who finished the play on a goal. By the end of the second the Saints remained down 1-4.
The Saints had some points to make up for in the third and they made some progress, starting with a goal from Rozema. Xavier Erickson and Alex Johnson assisted on the play. The Panthers answered back with another goal on a power play. The Saints were not going to give up so easily. Up a man, A. Johnson and Erickson had another great connection to send Rozema to the goal with the puck.
The Final score for the contest was Davenport 6, Aquinas 3.
