Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Aquinas Men's Basketball team is gearing up for the 2024-25 season, set to begin in less than one month! With a packed schedule ahead, the Saints will compete in 13 home games and 17 on the road. Their season kicks off on November 8th and 9th with back-to-back games against Saint Mary of the Woods and Trinity Christian. Aquinas's home opener is scheduled for November 12th at 7:00 p.m. against Holy Cross.
The Saints will roll into conference play on Nov. 20th, taking on Siena Heights on the road, a team they split with last season. Just three days later the Saints will take on the UNOH Racers for their WHAC home opener. Diving into December play, AQ will hit the road to take on Bowling Green for the first time in program history. January marks the heart of WHAC play, where the Saints will face the grind of 14 straight conference games, kicking off with Indiana Tech on Jan. 4th. The team's regular season play will end with an away game versus Cornerstone before Aquinas prepares for post season games.
Mark your calendars, Saints fans! The Aquinas College men's basketball team is set to host NCAA Division I powerhouse Central Michigan in a showdown on Thursday, December 5th at the Sturrus Sports & Fitness Center. This special match-up will give the Saints an exciting opportunity to compete against top-tier talent from the Mid-American Conference. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m., and the atmosphere is sure to be electric as the team looks to showcase their skills and make a statement on their home court.
Last season the Saints finished with a 13-16 record and made their way to the WHAC quarter finals where they were defeated by Cornerstone 72-97. The Saints are thrilled to welcome back key player Devon Boyd for his senior season. Boyd contributed 318 points while shooting .478% and an outstanding 107 assists. Aquinas is also excited to have Ryan Weir back for the 2024-25 season. Last year he had an impressive .410 shooting percentage and often came up big down the stretch, including a corner three he hit to seal Aquinas's victory over UNOH. Additionally,
Aquinas is eager to build on last year's success by integrating some notable transfers onto their roster. Jack Futa from Ball State, Cade Huff from Tusculum, and Jadakiss Lewis from Muskegon CC are all set to join the Saints and make an impact on the season.
