Clinton Township, Mich. – The Aquinas Saints men's bowling team displayed their competitiveness at the Great Lakes Open at Imperial Lanes, finishing in seventh place overall with a total of 5,835 pins. The Saints took on a challenging field, including Lawrence Tech and St. Francis, who took the number one and two spots.
Aquinas put up strong numbers in the traditional games, with individual highlights from players who kept the team in the running, including a 233 for Abery Thomas III in game three and a 221 from Michael Deming in game one. In the Baker rounds, the Saints continued to post steady scores, though they couldn't quite close the gap with the leaders. Their highest Baker game score came in Baker 4, where they tallied 825 pins, demonstrating their depth and resilience as a team.
Individually, Thomas led the Saints with a total pinfall of 609, recording scores of 176, 210, and 223 to secure a 21st-place finish. Joshua Boersma followed as the second-highest finisher for the Saints varsity team, placing 83rd overall with scores of 139, 162, and 137, totalling 438 pins. The Aquinas JV team saw standout performances, with Jared Mann finishing 62nd with 522 pins.
