Box Score Rochester, Mich. — The Aquinas College men's hockey team traveled to Rochester, Michigan, to take on the Warriors of Rochester Christian in the Big Boy Arena. The Saints opened the game with the first goal and concluded the night with the last as they went on to defeat RCU 7-3 in regulation.

With the opening puck drop, the two teams were off to find the first goal of the evening. AQ landed that right as
Xavier Erickson drilled one in with a pass from
Evan Doan with 8:35 remaining in the first.The remaining time saw Aquinas continue to fire away but unable to collect their second helping at the net.
The Warriors notched a rebuttal three minutes into the second period, evening the score 1-1. But AQ brought themselves back on top with a
Brendan Bourne goal with a combination pass from
Nick Dashner and
Gavin Rozema with 6:03 remaining in the period. The period saw no additional goals.
The Saints exploded back onto the ice in the third as Aquinas found five total goals to RCU's two. The AQ goal spree started at 17:48 as
Austin Gilmore netted a solo goal. Just over 20 seconds later, Rozema struck one in with help from
Alex Johnson and Bourne. Jack Jeffrey was next in line as he sunk the Saints fifth goal on the evening unassisted. AQ's scoring dropped off for some time but was reignited as
Christian Look found one by himself with just under 90 seconds remaining. And to finish it off,
Zachary Burns added one last flourish with assists from Dashner and Rozema making the game stand at 7-3.
Soon after time expired and the Saints had successfully found their way back to the victory column.
By the Numbers
- Both Burns and Jeffrey's found their first collegiate goal in the contest
- AQ out shot RCU 48-40
- Keeper Max Johnston faced those 40 and allowed three, giving him a .925 save rating
