Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College men's hockey team began play in the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Tournament on Friday (Dec. 6) with the opening match against the No. 11-rated Knights of Calvin. The Saints etched their time in on the ice and remained competitive in the first period. But the Knights' prowess pushed them out in front for the remaining periods as they took the local victory 10-0.
Calvin 10, Aquinas 0
AQ held CU back in the first period as the Knights only managed to beat the Aquinas defense just once.
Calvin entered the second period with a renewed game plan and began to chip away at the AQ defense. The Knights picked up five goals in the period with three of them being from powerplays.
The third period echoed the second as Calvin collected four goals, two of which came by powerplays. With the final horn, the No. 11-rated Knights took the contest 10-0.
