Fort Wayne, Ind. — The No. 4-ranked Aquinas College women's soccer team began conference play today as they traveled to Fort Wayne, Indiana, to take on the Warriors of Indiana Tech. The Saints were feeling smooth as they took to the pitch. AQ made their prowess known as they collected four goals before the half, and collected three more after. With the final whistle, the team earned their first conference win of the season with a 7-1 standing.

The Saint's play was dominant as they hounded the Warriors from the opening kickoff. AQ wasted little time finding their first goal.
Maeva Lichtensteiger notched AQ's first break through with a pass from
Madison Slezinski.
Lichtensteiger returned swiftly at 20:24 as she delivered another strike for a goal, this time assisted by
Sydney Shenk.
The Saints keep the pressure as
Marie-Louise Abild broke through the goal line with a pass from
Emily Gignac at 23:27.
Aquinas kept finding opportunities but the Warriors manage to keep them out of the goal for a period of time. But AQ returned nonetheless at 40:43, this time Abild lobbed in a corner and like a shark in the box
Avery Tack hammered the bait home.
As the horn came to blow, AQ held a 4-0 advantage over the Warriors entering halftime.
The second half of play saw IIT score first at 70:21, but this did not mark any comeback as this merely reignited the Saints.
AQ went on to blast three more goals before the end of the contest.
The combo of Lichtensteiger and Abild returned, earning Lichtenstieger her a hat trick at 73:27.
Abild was feeling generous on the evening as she sent in another pass, this time
Olivia Bowling finished it across the line at 80:51. Bowling returned swiftly as she netted another goal at 83:10, less than three minutes later.
No goal was found for the remainder of the contest.
No. 4-Ranked AQ earned their first conference win, 7-1, over the Warriors.
