Ivan Radovic picked up an early save off of an SAU corner to keep the game scoreless early. However, just a few minutes later, SAU broke the tie in the 11 minute. Just 37 seconds later, the Cougars doubled their lead with an unassisted goal by Sahel Yessen.

AQ managed its first shot on goal in the 15th minute when Jasper Schinkel challenged the SAU keeper, but Jack Cristini kept the score at 2-0. Following the Aquinas shot, the Spring Arbor offense began to pick up. The Aquinas defense blocked several shots, but the Cougars found their way through again, resulting in a 3-0 lead. The score remained the same until the first-half whistle.

The flow of the game remained the same following the 15-minute intermission, with SAU continuing to hold possession and threaten to score. The hosts managed to find the back of the net one last time as Yessen scored once more.

Following the fourth goal of the contest, the game quieted down on both sides until the final whistle ended the 4-0 fixture.

By the Numbers
  • The AQ defense managed to hold off the SAU attack for a majority of the game as the Cougars only put seven of their 22 shots on target.
  • Radovic ended the game with three saves.
  • Aquinas holds a 4-3 record over SAU over the last 20 years, but the Cougars have won the last two fixtures.
