Box Score Southfield, MI – It has been a tough stretch for the AQ men's soccer team. While Coach Luke Ruff's squad continues to battle, the results just have not shown up in a positive way on the score sheet. Wednesday was another example of hard work and effort not rewarded, as the Saints dropped another close game, 1-0, to Lawrence Tech.
Lawrence Tech 1, Aquinas 0
Aquinas fought hard throughout the contest, generating 14 total shots with nine on target. The Saints held the Blue Devils scoreless in the opening half, but Lawrence Tech broke through just after the break when Pablo Calvo scored in the 46th minute.
Goalkeeper Ivan Radovic anchored the defense with five saves, keeping the match within reach. Fikret Hasovic was active up top, recording three shots on goal, while Owen Dibling, Bryce Schaner, and Evan Goodfellow also tested the keeper. Carson Tucker added a dangerous header in the second half, forcing another save.
Despite late pressure and multiple chances down the stretch, Aquinas was unable to find the equalizer and fell just short in another WHAC battle.
