Box Score Fort Wayne, IN – Road trips to Indiana Tech always seem to reveal something about a team's toughness, identity, and readiness for WHAC play. For Aquinas, Saturday's match-up in the Schaefer Center offered an early-season chance to measure themselves against one of the conference's most explosive and veteran-led programs. The Saints arrived in Fort Wayne eager to attack the moment, test their depth, and continue building chemistry under Head Coach Ryan Bertoia. Against a red-hot Warriors squad, the Saints fought through waves of scoring surges, showcased individual standout performances, and gained valuable lessons that will serve them throughout the season.
Indiana Tech 103, Aquinas 71
Indiana Tech opened the game with a blistering scoring pace, but Aquinas responded early behind the aggression of Caden Pokorzynski, who repeatedly attacked the paint and finished through contact. Devon Boyd provided the Saints' first perimeter spark, knocking down a trio of threes and finishing with a team-high 19 points. Jack Futa added an important lift off the bench, hitting two early threes to settle AQ's offense during Tech's first big run.
As the Warriors continued pushing the tempo, Cameron Moore helped stabilize the Saints on both ends, connecting on a pair of threes while battling defensively against Tech's wings. Jordan Bledsoe delivered strong second-half minutes, scoring 11 points—including three triples—to help Aquinas keep pace after halftime. Jacob Howard added four points and two assists while providing defensive pressure on the perimeter, and Trey Chmielewski chipped in four points after attacking the rim early in the contest.
In the post, Pokorzynski and Futa combined for eight offensive rebounds, giving AQ several key second-chance opportunities. Despite the steady contributions across the rotation, the Warriors' shooting proved difficult to counter, as Indiana Tech shot over 54 percent from the field and hit 12 threes. The Saints' strongest stretch came in the second half, where they shot 38.9 percent from deep and converted all 13 free-throw attempts. Moore, Boyd, and Bledsoe combined for seven second-half threes as AQ continued battling until the final horn.
Though the Saints were unable to trim the deficit, their work rate, competitive edge, and commitment to playing through adversity remained constant—an encouraging sign as the season continues to take shape.

Coach's Comments
After the game, Head Coach Ryan Bertoia talked about the work ahead for his squad if they want to remain in the WHAC top tier:
"Indiana Tech exposed some things we need to tighten up, but they also showed us exactly where we can grow. Our fight was there, our effort was there—we just have to be more disciplined and connected for 40 minutes. This group has the talent and toughness to compete with anyone in the league, and games like this are valuable steps in that process."
