Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College men's volleyball team begins 2025-2026 roster commit list with Arizona's Joe Hodgson. Hodgson hails from Gilbert, Arizona, where he attends Highland High School. The Gilbert native plans to study Sports Management as he enters AQ next fall.

Hodgson is a prominent middle blocker as he led the state of Arizona in blocks in 6A his junior year. Hodgson comes from a prosperous team as the Highland Hawks have collected the past five conference championships.

Hodgson began his athletic career playing baseball, then basketball until he found his stride in volleyball. 

This is what Hodgson shared about his choice to become a Saint, "Aquinas is such a unique school, there's nowhere else like it! That is why I chose Aquinas."

Here is what Head Coach Michael Crane had to say about Hodgson, "Joe came out at the end of summer and was an instant hit with the team. Although we have been recruiting him as a middle hitter, his skill set would absolutely allow us to use him as an opposite and quite possibly an outside a bit further down the road. His versatility will be a valuable asset starting next fall."
