Box Score LIVONIA, Mich. — The Aquinas softball team's 2025 campaign came to a close Friday morning as the Saints fell 5-0 to Indiana Tech in a WHAC Tournament elimination game at University Field. With the loss, Aquinas wraps up the season with a 28-22 record, while Indiana Tech (29-15) advances to continue its postseason run.
Indiana Tech 5, Aquinas 0
In a tightly contested first three innings, both teams were locked in a scoreless duel before the Warriors broke through in the bottom of the fourth. Indiana Tech's L. Farrell scored on a single up the middle by C. Walter to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
Indiana Tech extended its advantage with a two-run fifth inning, capitalizing on a hit-by-pitch and a bases-loaded walk to push the margin to 3-0. The Warriors added two more runs in the sixth — one on a triple and another on an RBI groundout — to seal the final score at 5-0.
Aquinas struggled to generate offense against Indiana Tech ace Sydney Bravo (14-7), who delivered a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts and just one walk. The Saints tallied five hits — two from Patrina Marsh, who also swiped a base — but couldn't convert on limited scoring opportunities.
Despite the shutout, several Aquinas players managed to reach base and put pressure on the Warriors' defense. Patrina Marsh led the Saints with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate and stole a base. Katie Carlson added a double, while Carson Hendrickson and Abby Nieswender each chipped in with a single. However, the Saints could not string together hits or capitalize with runners on.
Raeann Drummond (9-5) took the loss for Aquinas, allowing two runs over four innings before giving way to Sophia Pavese, who surrendered three runs across two frames.
Despite the season-ending defeat, the Saints demonstrated resilience throughout the year, notching 28 wins and earning a WHAC Tournament berth. With contributions from a balanced lineup and promising underclassmen, Aquinas enters the offseason with a solid foundation for the 2026 campaign.
Inside the Numbers
• 10 Strikeouts: Aquinas struck out 10 times against Indiana Tech's Sydney Bravo, tying a season high for strikeouts in a 7-inning game.
• 5 Hits, No Runs: The Saints were shut out for just the third time all season despite recording five hits, including a double from Katie Carlson.
• 0-for-8 with Runners On: Aquinas went hitless in eight at-bats with runners on base, a key factor in the offensive struggles.
• 28 Wins: Aquinas finishes the season at 28-22 — the program's highest win total since 2021.
