Grand Rapids, Mich. – Aquinas College Athletics has announced the addition of Logan Tiell as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, strengthening the Saints' commitment to providing outstanding care and support for its student-athletes.
Tiell joins Aquinas after earning both his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Master of Athletic Training from Bowling Green State University. Throughout his education, he gained valuable experience working with a variety of collegiate and professional athletic programs, including Bowling Green State football, University of Florida baseball, University of Florida men's and women's tennis, and the Toledo Walleye during his undergraduate clinical experience.
"We're excited to welcome Logan to our sports medicine team," said Director of Sports Medicine Mackenzie Yob. "He brings a strong educational background, experience working with high-level collegiate programs, and a genuine passion for caring for student-athletes. What stood out to me throughout the hiring process was his professionalism, eagerness to learn and commitment to building relationships. I have no doubt he'll be a great resource for our coaches and student-athletes, and we're thrilled to have him join the Aquinas family."
"Providing outstanding care for our student-athletes is one of the most important commitments we make as an athletic department, and adding Logan strengthens that commitment," said Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Damon Bouwkamp. "He's already worked with successful collegiate programs and brings an energy and enthusiasm that fit perfectly with the culture we're continuing to build at Aquinas. We're excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to the impact he'll have on our student-athletes every day."
"I really like the culture that has been built here," said Tiell. "I enjoy being able to work with a variety of athletes, and Aquinas gives me an incredible opportunity to be able to show off my skillset."
At Aquinas, Tiell will provide sports medicine coverage for the men's lacrosse, women's hockey, women's volleyball, softball, cheer, dance, women's basketball and women's rugby programs, giving him the opportunity to work with a diverse group of student-athletes across multiple sports throughout the year.
Originally from Sylvania, Ohio, Tiell recently relocated to Grand Rapids and looks forward to helping Aquinas student-athletes perform at their best while supporting their health and well-being throughout their collegiate careers.
