Yorktown, IN – The Aquinas College men's golf team wrapped up the spring season on Tuesday at the WHAC Championships, held at The Players Club at Woodland Trails.
The Saints placed 11th out of 12 teams after finishing with a 954 (+90) three-day total.
Northwest Ohio won the tournament with an 882, while Lawrence Tech edged Indiana Tech for runner-up honors.
Only 15 strokes separated Aquinas from the seventh-place team, Madonna.
The Saints opened with a 315 and improved by a stroke in the second round after carding a 314.
The final round proved to be Aquinas' downfall as it shot 325.
Junior Austin Pitsch led the Saints and placed in a tie for 22nd after rounds of 81, 76 and 76 for a 233 total.
A pair of seniors, McCoy Denhartigh and Anthony Lalomia, played the final rounds of their collegiate careers.
Denhartigh tied for 32nd after finishing with a 238 total. He had the lowest round of the team in the second round, firing a stellar 2-over-par 74 while also posting an 81 and 83.
Lalomia was a stroke behind at 239, good enough for a tie for 36th. He shot an opening round 76 and added a 79 and 84.
Sophomore Andrew Kurowski carded an opening round 77, while also shooting 85 and 82 for a 244 total and a tied for 41st finish.
By the numbers
n Pitsch led the Saints with seven total birdies, while Lalomia recorded five. Kurowski and Denhartigh each had four.
n Pitsch performed well on the par 5's and finished at -2 overall.

Head Coach Matt Denhartigh: "We battled hard this week but came up short. I'm proud of the way these guys fought throughout the season and I want to say, thank you' to the seniors for their efforts these past couple years. I'm sad to see the season finish so soon."
