Grand Rapids, Michigan - Addison Birkholz, the daughter of Heather and Jeremy Birkholz, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Birkholz, who recently graduated from Zeeland East High School, became the sixth signee of the 2025-26 recruiting class for the Aquinas College women's cross country and track & field programs.

Birkholz stated, "I chose Aquinas because the culture of the team, and the trust I have in the coaches."

Birkholz, who loves playing pickle ball and being at the beach, has posted a personal best of 18:24 on the cross course and 2:15.98 (800 meters) and 60.86 (400 meters) on the track.  

Josh Vork, head girls cross country and track & field coach at Zeeland East added, "Addie is a super talented athlete who took advantage of her unusual senior spring by rekindling her love and appreciation for running. She proved that she can positively add to her teammates' success in ways beyond competing by investing in becoming a great teammate and friend throughout the season. I am confident that she is headed to Aquinas hungry to train and compete at a high level and I can't wait to see what she does against collegiate competition!"

Birkholz has three siblings named Brayden, Aubrey, and Avery and she plans on majoring in Pre-Med at Aquinas College.

Aquinas head coach Mike Wojciakowski commented, "We are delighted that Addie has decided to continue her academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. She is a welcomed addition to our women's cross country and track & field programs. I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with her."
