Ian Russell brings leadership, academic excellence, and steady development to the Saints. A recipient of the Gary Beard Most Improved Award, Captain’s Award, and Academic All-State honors — along with conference, region, and district recognition — Russell helped lead his team to two district championships. He has played baseball for 12 years and competed on varsity for two seasons, while also playing travel baseball with B45, Grand Rapids Elite, and the Kalamazoo Maroons.

Russell chose Aquinas because of the positive experiences shared by others and the opportunity to continue his athletic career. He defines success as fully engaging in campus life while balancing the demands of athletics and academics.

A fun note: he has a twin sister, and his favorite movie is The Green Mile.
