Junior Korbyn Russell joins Aquinas after transferring from Michigan State University, bringing one of the most decorated high school athletic résumés in recent memory. A Business Administration major from East Jordan, Michigan, Russell was a three-sport standout in baseball, football and basketball.
Russell earned All-State honors in baseball during both his junior and senior seasons, was a three-time All-State athlete across multiple sports and was selected to the MHSAA Baseball All-Star Game. His lengthy list of accolades also includes multiple All-Conference, All-Region and Dream Team selections, Baseball Player of the Year honors, six appearances in the MHSAA Record Book and numerous conference, district and regional championships.
A four-year varsity baseball player, team captain and left-handed pitcher and infielder, Russell also competed in travel baseball for more than eight years. He chose Aquinas because of its strong team culture and the opportunity to continue growing both as an athlete and as a person. He defines success as becoming a better teammate, embracing every opportunity and making a lasting impact on the program.
Outside of baseball, Korbyn enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors with family and friends.
