CJ Russell brings leadership, discipline, and academic excellence to the Saints. A recipient of the Dakota Football Leadership Award (2023), M.A.C. All-Academic Team Award (2020–2024), and Dakota Lacrosse A.C.E. Award (2023–2024), Russell also served as team captain in both football (2023) and lacrosse (2024). In addition to lacrosse, he has boxed for five years and holds an amateur record of 1–1.

Russell chose Aquinas for the brotherhood and family atmosphere within the lacrosse program, along with the beauty of the campus. He defines success as staying organized while helping elevate the team’s GPA and performance on the field.

Outside of athletics, he enjoys spending time outdoors.
