Biography
Senior Leah French continues her outstanding collegiate basketball career while pursuing degrees in Psychology and Athletic Coaching. A native of McMillan, Michigan, French graduated as valedictorian of Engadine High School with a 4.114 GPA while establishing herself as one of the Upper Peninsula's most accomplished multi-sport athletes.
A six-sport varsity athlete, French earned state medals in cross country, golf, and track while becoming one of the most decorated basketball players in school history. A four-year varsity starter, she set 10 school records—including a remarkable 54-point game—and is listed eight times in the MHSAA record book. Her senior season included EUP Player of the Year, All-UP Division 4 Player of the Year, All-UP Dream Team, and Associated Press Division 4 Second Team All-State honors.
French chose Aquinas because of its close-knit, supportive community and the opportunity to grow personally, academically, spiritually, and athletically. She believes maintaining a positive mindset while making those around her better defines a successful collegiate experience.
Proudly representing Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Leah enjoys worship music and spending time with family and friends.
