Aquinas College

Sophomore Grace Smart continues her collegiate hockey career while pursuing degrees in Business Administration and Communication. A native of Adrian, Michigan, Smart arrived at Aquinas with an impressive hockey résumé highlighted by selection to the 2024 USA Hockey All National Team.

Smart spent 14 years playing hockey, including seven seasons with the Kensington Valley Ravens, helping the program earn National Runner-Up honors in 2024 and State Runner-Up honors in 2025. Away from the rink, she also competed in varsity golf and varsity tennis during high school. She chose Aquinas because of its small class sizes, ideal location and welcoming community.

Grace believes the care and support shown by Aquinas faculty, coaches and staff will help make her collegiate experience successful. A unique family connection: she is related to former Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak and is also distantly related to the Bob Evans family.
