Angelica Gero

Angelica Gero is entering her fifth season at the helm of the women's lacrosse program heading into the 2023 season. Gero has helped turn around the program over the past five seasons. The women's lacrosse team posted a 6-4 record with a 5-2 WHAC record in 2021. That was followed up with a 12-7 record and a 7-2 WHAC record in 2022, good for a 12-4 WHAC record over the past two seasons.

The women's lacrosse team has also experienced increasing individual success on the field, especially over the last two seasons. Under the direction of coach Gero, the Saints have produced nine All-WHAC First Team players, two All-WHAC Second Team players, and three NAIA Second Team All-Americans. Gero also coached the 2022 WHAC Defensive Player of the Year and the 2021 WHAC Newcomer of the Year, along with numerous offensive and defensive players of the week.

Off the field, the women's lacrosse program has generated 20 WHAC All-Academic student-athletes over the past four seasons. In 2022, the AQ women's lacrosse program was announced as an Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Academic Honor Squad, while featuring three student-athletes to the IWLCA Honor Roll. The AQ women's lacrosse has also been an NAIA Scholar-Team in her time at the helm

When she is not coaching the Aquinas women's lacrosse team, Gero is also the assistant director and head coach for the club team Pure Advantage Lacrosse, where she has held that title since 2019.

Before coming to Aquinas, Gero coached at Adams State University, an NCAA DII school in Colorado, for two seasons. She was also the first head coach for the Felician University women's lacrosse program in New Jersey, another NCAA DII school, in 2016. This was Gero's first head coaching position at the collegiate level.

Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Gero coached the varsity team at Colts Neck High School for two years and the high school team for United Lacrosse Club for three years.

Gero attended Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey where she was a part of the inaugural recruiting class for the women's lacrosse team. She was a four-year starter for the women’s lacrosse team and helped the Lions win two conference championships. As a defender, Gero was named to the all-conference team in the first two years that GCU was a part of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.
