The men's soccer team dropped a tightly contested match on the road to Lourdes this evening, falling to the Grey Wolves 1-0. The loss drops the Saints record to 1-3-1 in WHAC play and 2-6-4 overall.

The two teams played a very competitive match and were nearly even statistically with the exception of the final score. Both teams earned four corner-kicks on the day, with Lourdes outshooting Aquinas just 10-8 with a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.

The Saints and Grey Wolves were knotted-up 0-0 for the first 82 minutes of action and looked destined to go to extra time, but the Grey Wolves found the goal head goal in the 83rd off of a corner-kick. The Saints had a chance of their own to equalize in the 89th minute, but Andrea Ghiggini's attempt off of a Saints' corner was stopped by Lourdes goalkeeper Alki Chokr to save the game for the home team.

Saints goalkeeper Antonio Strasiotto stopped four of the five shots he faced on the evening. Aquinas is back in action this Wednesday with a trip to UM-Dearborn.
