Saints Handle Concordia in Second Game of the Season

Six Saints find the back of the net

The Aquinas women's hockey team traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan and won their second game this past Saturday.  AQ had six different Saints find the back of the net through in two different periods in Saturday's competition.

With the win, AQ moves to 2-0 on the season and Concordia drops to 1-3 overall.

The Saints scored three goals in the second period. Freshman Lauryn Wood, netted the first goal for AQ at 9:33 mark when she was assisted by Senior Natalie Vaitas. The next goal from Grace Waldo was assisted by Gina Marzolo and at 4:57. The period ended with Anna Castle finding the net at 2:53 when she was assisted by Jenna Blackwell.

The Saints kept the scoring party going in the third period. Defender Jenna Hausman was the first Saint to score in the third period when she was assisted by Alyssa Buzar at 2:49. Alyssa Eline then scored an unassisted goal at 1:04 and Alyssa Buzar got in on the scoring when she was assisted by Zoe Bergen at :21 to end the game. 

In net, sophomore Kadynce Romjin faced 24 shots. She recorded 24 saves to earn the victory.

The Saints are back in action October 22, when they travel to Lebanon, Illinois for a game against McKendree University. Puck drop is at 4:30 PM.
