The Saints women's volleyball squad took home another dominant victory today (Oct. 6) over Lourdes. Aquinas won by set scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-14 to earn their second sweep in consecutive nights.

This win improves Aquinas' overall record to 13-8, now with four straight WHAC victories for a 5-2 conference record. Aquinas has now won seven consecutive sets dating back to October 2nd against Lawrence Tech.

The Saints comfortably led in all statistical categories, leading to the 3-0 sweep. AQ held the advantage in kills (33-30), hitting percentage (.229-.110), assists (33-27), service aces (8-0), digs (52-47), and total blocks (17-5).

Abbie Harpenau was the leader in kills for the Saints, tallying a team-best 10 kills with an impressive .588 hitting percentage. Harpenau also added four digs and four block assists, making her presence felt in all aspects of the game. Meredith Kraus was right being her with nine kills (.241). Emily Jones had another solid match with six kills (.417), two digs, three block assists, and a solo block.

Cassie Sustrich again had 27 assists in the match today, averaging nine assists per set. Sustrich also contributed three service aces, 10 digs, and three block assists. Jackie Rozell and Adrien Yondo added a team-high 12 digs in the winning effort.

The conference play road continues with a road match against Siena Heights on Friday, October 8 at 7:30 PM. The match will be held inside the Siena Heights Fieldhouse.
