Men's Hockey Completes Series Sweep of Michigan-Dearborn

Brandon Rozema has three points in win.

The Saints men's hockey team traveled to the UMD Campus Arena, in Dearborn, Michigan to play the second game of the series against the UM Dearborn Wolverines. AQ topped Dearborn by a score of 4-1 Saturday night. AQ put on an offensive display, putting four shots into the back of the net on 25 shots to take home a 4-1 victory, sweeping the Wolverines in the series.

AQ struck first in the game when senior forward, Brandon Rozema found the back of the net at 10:51 of the first period. He was assisted on the play by Thomas Davis. The Saints scored once more before the period ended when Alex Klekotka was assisted by Rozema and Nick Long at 2:16.

Coming back in the second period were the Wolverines when they scored at 13:04. The Saints retaliated quickly though when Christian look assisted Darren Johnston for the goal at 11:49. The Saints were up 3-1 at the end of the period.

To ice the game, Brandon Rozema continued to impress as he scored unassisted with 2:48 left in the third period.

The Saints were out shot by the Wolverines 28-25 throughout the game but made the most of their attempts. Michael Allman recorded 27 saves throughout three periods.

AQ is back in action next weekend (Nov. 5&6) for its series against the Rochester Warriors. Aquinas will be away at Big Boy Arena on November 5 at 8:00 PM and home at Southside Ice Arena on November 6 at 8:00 PM.
