#10 Indiana Tech Scores Three in the Third Period to Push Themselves Ahead of AQ

AQ couldn't find a response for Indiana Tech as they open the series with a 4-1 win over Aquinas

The #15 Aquinas men's hockey team was set for a huge WHAC matchup against the #10 Indiana Tech Warriors tonight (Nov. 12) at Southside Ice Arena. The first period started off with an exclamation points as Augustus Hickle came in off the line change and recovered his own rebound for a goal to put Aquinas up 1-0 at 16:16.

The Saints had a scare later on in the first period, as Indiana Tech received a five on three opportunity with Arthur Prukhitsky and Russell Shengulette serving time in the box. However, Aquinas survived and killed off the five on three opportunity. The rest of the period played out with both sides getting just a couple of chances, resulting both teams entering the locker rooms with the score still at 1-0.

The second period continued to be a tight back-and-forth contest. Indiana Tech scored a goal from the center line at 16:58 to bring the score even a 1-1. Both teams killed off a powerplay later on in the period. At the conclusion of the period, Indiana Tech had 12 shots to AQ's 9. With the total shots being 20-19 in favor of Indiana Tech through two periods, both teams really limited the opportunities for the other in a defensive battle.
