The women's hockey team welcomed the Miami of Ohio RedHawks back to Southside Arena for the second game of their double header. Coming into the game, Saint's looked to extract revenge after last night's match up, but ended up falling to Miami 3-1.
The Saints and Redhawks were locked in an intense battle in the first period as neither team saw a goal in the first period. Aquinas put up 9 shots in the first period compared to the 16 that Miami did.
There was one penalty in the first period, as a player from Miami was penalized for cross checking at 13:13. This resulted in a two-minute power play for Aquinas.
The second period saw more action when Miami of Ohio scored with a goal at 14:48. The redhawks struck again when they scored at 10:39 as the same three players were involved in the goal. The Saints would answer though when

Natalie Vaitas in an open ice fast break. Vaitas scored at 5:32 in the period on a power play goal.
The penalty box was visited three times by the redhawks and once by the Saints. The first came at 8:29 for the redhawks when they were called for tripping. Aquinas and Miami then played 4-on-4 when MofO were called for cross checking and
Alyssa Buzar was called for roughing at 5:32. The final penalty of the period happened at 56 seconds for tripping and was ended when Vaitas scored at :27.8.
The Saints were outshot 17-9 in the period.
The Saints looked to tie it up in the third but were unable to do so. The redhawks scored on a shorthanded possession at 5:59 of the third period. Miami had one more penalty at 16:03 in the third for hooking.
Aquinas and Miami both had 16 shots in the period.
Ashley Suske had 46 saves in the game and let up three goals.
Women's Hockey is next in action Friday, November 19 when they are away at Lake Superior State. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
