Women’s Lacrosse Adds Sophia Schmader to Recruiting Class

The Aquinas women's lacrosse team and head coach Angelica Gero are pleased to announce the latest signee to the 2021 class, Sophia Schmader. From Caledonia, Schmader will start her academic career in the fall of 2021 and prep for the 2022 lacrosse season.

Schmader attends Caledonia High School where she helped the Fighting Scots win the 2018 conference championship. Schmader is a three-year varsity player and a team captain.

Coach Gero commented, "This has been such an exciting class. Our team this year is growing in all the right ways, and this 2021 class is going to be super impactful. Sophia is an awesome, coachable athlete & teammate. I am looking forward to the discipline & patience that she will bring to our offensive end, and the heart that she'll bring to the whole squad.

She has played the sport of lacrosse for four years. Schmader also has competed for the Pure Advantage travel program for four years during the summer and fall seasons. Schmader is a varsity letterwinner in basketball for Caledonia, as well.

Schmader, who plans on studying business administration, noted on her decision to commit, "I'm excited to be a part of the hard working, dedicated AQ Saints LAX Program."
