The Aquinas women's volleyball team rolled to its 14th consecutive win on Friday night (Mar. 12) in Ann Arbor, topping Concordia by a 3-0 final score. Winning by straight set scores of 25-17, 25-18, and 25-13, it was AQ's 11th 3-0 victory of the season.
With the win, Aquinas remains atop the WHAC standings with a 10-1 record in league play. Overall, the Saints are 17-1 on the season and have won 14 straight matches since Feb. 6. Concordia drops to 5-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play.
AQ dominated in nearly all aspects on Friday, hitting .206 with 43 kills while holding Concordia to only 16 kills and a -.053 attack clip. Aquinas tallied 16 kills in just the third set on Friday, while the Cardinals picked up only 16 kills in the entire match. The Saints were also far superior in digs (83-58), blocks (12-3), and assists (42-16). CUAA held a 5-3 edge in aces.
Jackie Rozell paced AQ with a double-double of 14 digs, a match-high 13 kills, and five block assists.
Kylie Christensen posted 11 kills in just 26 swings for a .346 clip, while adding three block assists.
In addition to Rozell, four other Saints tallied double-digit digs.
Adrien Yondo recorded a match-high and a new career-high 24 digs to go with four assists.
Kenzi Dobosiewicz picked up 14 digs and
Payton Klein neared a double-double with 13 digs and seven kills.
Kali Crawford notched a 35-assist, 13-dig double-double, along with three block assists.
Samee Teachworth secured six block assists and four kills, while
Emily Jones also had a hand in six blocks.
The Saints are on the road again on Saturday (Mar. 13) in Southfield, when AQ takes on Lawrence Tech at 3:00 p.m.
