Saints Women Top Concordia 6-4 for Eighth Straight Win

The Aquinas women's hockey team traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan to face Concordia on Saturday evening (Mar. 13). A busy third period and two AQ goals within the last four minutes of the contest earned Aquinas the huge victory over the Cardinals. The Saints improve to 9-0-1 and earn their eighth straight victory and remain undefeated on the year.

The Saints and the Cardinals were tied up at two goals apiece as the teams headed into the locker room at the end of the second period. AQ and Concordia battled back-and-forth as each team scored another two goals in the third period to tie the game at 4-4.

With 3:26 left to go in the game, Amelia Bartels netted the go-ahead goal for the Saints (unassisted). Aquinas found the back of the net again, this time by Grace Waldo (assisted by Tori Feddema), with 47 seconds left to clinch the win for AQ. The loss drops Concordia to a 3-5 overall record.

Bartels led the Saints with two goals. Waldo finished with one goal and one assist. Lauren Tulloch tallied a goal and an assist as well for the Saints. Anna Castle and Drevline each posted a goal. 

Chloe Donnelly and Feddema each added an assist for Aquinas. Ashley Suske started and finished the game for the Saints posting 28 saves.

Aquinas is back in action tomorrow (Mar. 14) as the Saints travel down the road to face Davenport for their fourth and final meeting. Puck drop is set for 5:00 PM.
