The Aquinas women's hockey team hosted the Panthers of Davenport on Sunday night (Mar. 7) inside Southside Ice Arena. A strong second period by the Saints earned them the win over the Panthers, 3-1. Aquinas improves its win streak to six and advances to a 7-0-1 overall record. 

Davenport netted the first goal at the 15:35 mark in the first period. Aquinas quickly bounced back, as Madison Morgrette found the back of the net at the 9:24 mark.

AQ and Davenport remained scoreless for nearly the first 15 minutes in the second period. The Saints quickly surged with goals from Tori Feddema at 5:56 (assisted by Anna Castle) and Alexandra Drevline at 4:04 (assisted by Mikayla Oppermann), giving AQ the 3-1 advantage to head into the third period.

A scoreless third period from both teams clinched the win for the Saints. Davenport falls to a 1-3 overall record.

Aquinas had 54 total shots on goal compared to 13 for the Panthers. AQ goalie Ally Kennedy tallied 12 saves, allowing only one goal.

The Saints are back in action next Friday (Mar. 12) as AQ faces Davenport again at Southside Ice Arena. AQ is 2-0 against the Panthers so far this year and look to grab another win next week. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM.
