AQ Women Dominate Lourdes on Road, 27-1

The Aquinas women's lacrosse team traveled to Sylvania, Ohio to take on the Gray Wolves of Lourdes in a big WHAC contest on Saturday evening (Apr. 10). The Saints unstoppable offense surged them past the Gray Wolves as AQ earned the huge 27-1 victory. The win advances Aquinas to a 4-2 overall record, 3-1 WHAC. 

It was the Saints the whole way as AQ got off to a hot 8-0 lead. The Gray Wolves first and only goal was scored at the 19:51 mark in the first half. Aquinas netted eight more to head into the locker room with the large 16-1 lead. 

The Saints outshot the Gray Wolves 23-4 in the first half. AQ goalkeeper Azariah Wells posted three saves in the first 30 minutes of play. 

Lourdes was scoreless in the second half as Aquinas kept pushing on totaling 13 shots and scoring 11 goals. Wells grabbed a pair of saves in the second half as the Gray Wolves tallied just two shots on goal. AQ earned the huge 27-1 win over Lourdes. The loss moves the LU to 0-4 overall, 0-4 WHAC. 

Aquinas was led offensively by Cierra Davis who totaled five goals and two assists. Megan Moffat finished with four goals and two draw controls. Naomi Plant posted three goals and an assist. Plant also added three draw controls. 

Alyssa Chartier totaled three goals and a ground ball. Kennadie Minerich finished with two goals and two assists and added three ground balls. McKenna tallied two goals while Alexis Villarini also netted one goal. Carli Taylor and Amelia Bartels each had four draw controls while Bartels added two caused turnovers.

The Saints return to play on Monday (Apr. 12) as AQ travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana to face Indiana Tech in another big WHAC showdown. The game is set to begin at 5:00 PM against the Warriors.
