Rochester Hills, MI - The Aquinas men's hockey team was back for their second weekend of action as they also began conference play against Rochester. The Saints kept their foot on the gas all game long as they handled the Warriors by a score of 10-0.

The Saints move to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

The goals started almost immediately as
Mason Stewart started the scoring party at 18:14 of the first period. Stewart was aided by
Dylan Rumpke and
Kirwin Johnson on the play for his first goal of the season. Then, graduate student,
Brandon Rozema found the back of the net at 6:54 when he was assisted by
Darren Johnson and
Mitchell Hoon. Johnson then went to sneak a goal in before the end of the period when he did so with 19 seconds left in the period. He accomplished this with the help of
Danny Barry and Rumpke. The Saints ended the period up 3-0

Aquinas would have their biggest scoring period of the game in the second. Leading it off for AQ was freshman,
Alex Johnson. He scored at 13:05 in the period and was assisted on the play by Barry and Rumpke. Then another Johnson in
Drake Johnson scored only 25 seconds later for his first collegiate goal.
Brendan McCatty assisted on the goal for his first point as a Saint. After assisting on three of the the five prior goals, Rumpke got his turn to add a goal when he did so at 6:48. A. Johnson and K. Johnson were accredited with his assist. The Saints lead 7-0 at the end of the second.

The Saints third period goals came in a time frame of seven minutes. Rumpke began scoring for Aquinas this period when he netted the first goal of the period at 8:28. A. Johnson and Barry were there to earn the assists. A. Johnson then added another goal on the night when Rumpke and
Christian Look dished out the puck. The final goal of the night came from Rozema at 2:27 when he was fed the puck from
Darren Johnson and Hoon.

Aquinas lit up the Warriors with 71 shots compared to Rochester's 19.

Aquinas will see the Warriors again tomorrow night at Southside Ice Arena in Byron Center for the second game of their series. The game will begin at 7:30 PM.
