The AQ men's soccer team finished its season with a 10-7-3 record and a 6-4-1 conference record that earned the Saints a fourth-place finish in the WHAC standings. The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference released its conference honors tonight (Nov. 12) for the 2022 men's soccer season. Senior

Theo Maye, and sophomore
Mason Sills were named three of the best players in the conference after their performances this season. All three players were named to the All-Conference First Team.
This is the second time that Ojutalayo has been named to the All-WHAC first team after also being nominated as one of the best players in the conference in 2021. In 2022, he played nearly every game totaling 1,610 minutes for Aquinas. He was the rock behind the Saints defense this season, leading the defense to five clean sheet shutout victories. The Saints have only allowed 23 goals this season, averaging just 1.14 goals allowed per game. This mark ranks third in the WHAC.
Maye has now been named a first team all-conference athlete all three years he has been at Aquinas. He has named first team All-WHAC in both 2020 and 2021 in addition to 2022. The midfielder from London, England led the Saints in assists this season with 12 helpers. This number is three-times more than any other player on Aquinas. Maye is tied for seventh in the NAIA in assists this season and has the most assists in the WHAC.
In addition to his assists, the midfield play-creator scored six goals this season with six. He was tied with
Ricardo Rittersberger for second on the team. He attempted 50 shots in 2022, putting 27 on target for a .540 shot on goal percentage and a .120 goal percentage. Maye played in 19 of AQ's 20 games this season, totaling 1,597 minutes on the pitch.
Sophomore standout Sills was the third Saints to be named to the all-conference first team. This is his second time being named to an all-conference team after being named to the all-newcomer team in 2021. The striker from Grand Rapids, Michigan was the team-leader in goals with ten in 2022. His goal total was tied for the third-most in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference.
Sills trailed only Maye in total points this season with 23 on the year. In addition to his ten goals, Sills would assist three more in 2022. He attempted 44 shots, putting 33 on target for a .750 shot on goal percentage and a .227 goal conversion rate. Sills played all 20 games for AQ this season, totaling 1,374 minutes.
In addition to the All-Conference awards, the Saints had ten student-athletes named as WHAC All-Academic recipients. The All-Academic award is given to student-athletes who are a junior or above in academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and have been at Aquinas College for at least one year. Aquinas' All-Academic honorees this season are

Calabrese was also named AQ's representative for the WHAC Champions of Character team. This award is given to a Saint who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
