The women's lacrosse continued their season today with a matchup against the Concordia Cardinals. The Saints continue their perfect conference record this season with the 13-10 victory.
As mentioned, the Saints are 3-0 in conference play and 7-4 overall, while Concordia drops to 4-5 and 2-1 in conference.
At the end of the first quarter, the Saints lead the Cardinals by a score of 4-2. The Saints had a goal from
Cierra Davis then three man up goals in the last six minutes of the period. Two goals came from
Shaylin Rings and
Kennadie Minerich contributed one also.
The Saints continued to pour on the goals in the second quarter to further their lead. At the end of the period the Saints led by a score of 9-4. Goals in the period came from
Kennadie Minerich (3),
Shaylin Rings, and
Alexis Villarini.
In the second half the Saints were outscored 6-4, but the Cardinals were unable to overcome their first half deficit.
Shaylin Rings,
Alex Sullivan,
Kennadie Minerich, and
Trinity Reynoso were the Saints who scored in the second half.
In goal,
Azariah Wells and
Jordan Gardner split time and faced 17 shots and had seven saves.
Aquinas recorded 18 ground balls, 24 shots, and 15 clears in the contest.
The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, March 30, for an away matchup against Cleary. The contest is expected to begin at 6:00 PM.
