The women's lacrosse team was in action for their sixth conference game this year when they matched up against the #1 Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. Both teams entered the game perfect in conference play, but Lawrence Tech walked out with the 18-4 victory.

At the conclusion of today's contest Aquinas falls to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in conference. Lawrence Tech continues their perfect season with a 10-0 record and 7-0 overall.

The game stayed close in the first quarter as Lawrence Tech scored two goals compared to the Saints one. The Saints one goal was sandwiched between Tech's two when
Sophia Schmader scored at 7:23 in the period. She was assisted by
Alex Sullivan on the play.

In the second the Saints had one goal again. This time is came from
Emma Bailey when she scored the final goal of the half at 1:54.

In the first half,
Azariah Wells played in goal for AQ. She faced seven shots in her 30 minutes of action and was able to save two of them.

The second half saw Aquinas struggle to lock down the Blue Devils on defense as the Saints were outscored 13-2. Aquinas' two goals in the half came in the third period from
Kennadie Minerich and
Katelyn Hall.

Jordan Gardner was in net the second half and saw 17 total shots. She was able to save four of those shots.

In the contest Aquinas had 15 ground balls to Tech's 30. Tech also lead in shots 31-12.

The women will look to get back on a winning track this coming Saturday when they face off against Lourdes. The game will take place at the AQ Athletic Field at 1:00 PM
