Results
Today the men's and women's track and field programs were in action at Grand Valley's Tuesday Last Chance Meet. At the conclusion of the day the men walked away with one provisional mark and the women with two automatic marks and a school record.
Beginning in the high jump,
Kaylee Diamond started out by breaking her own school record in the event. Her new height of 1.75 meters is equivalent to 5'8.75" and bests her previous record by an inch. She has solidified her position as #1 in the nation currently. Then
Crystal Goyette finished the event with a height of 1.67 meters. This personal best earned her an automatic qualifier and now ranks her fourth all time in Aquinas history. Also in the event was
Casey Lenon and
Presley Avery. In the men's high jump,
Blake Whetstone was the only athlete representing Aquinas and he finished with a height of 1.82 meters.
In the men's pole vault,
Jesse Henderson placed sixth with a height of 4.70 meters. The height earned him a provisional qualifier and vaults him into fourth all time at Aquinas.
Mason King followed Henderson with a vault of 4.40 meters
On the women's side of the same event,
Laikyn Kulman and
Victoria Faber both finished with heights of 3.70 meters.
Shaily Baynes was also in the event and finished with a height of 3.25 meters.
Shanna Han kept busy today in both the long jump and triple jump. In the long jump she finished with a best jump of 4.89 meters. In triple jump, she finished with a jump of 10.32 meters. She was joined in the event by
Presley Avery who jumped 9.32 meters.
Aquinas will have one more last chance meet at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Meet. The two day meet will take place in Joilet, Illinois and will begin on Friday.
