CoSIDA Release
Clayton Boerigter of the Aquinas men's lacrosse team has been selected to the 2022 CoSIDA Academic Men's At-Large All-District Team, as announced on Thursday (May 19).
Boerigter was a wall in net for the Saints as well as being stellar in the classroom. He had a 10-5 record this season with seven of the wins being against teams in the top-10 poll or that were receiving votes. Boerigter made 173 saves in 15 starts for 11.53 saves per game and also had a .581 save percentage. He surrendered only nine goals per game with only five teams scoring more than 10 goals against him. His season-high 21 saves in a game happened twice, with one of them coming in the NAIA National Tournament quarterfinals win over Saint Ambrose. Among NAIA goalies, Boerigter had the seventh most saves, the 10th best save percentage, and the 12th best goals-against average. Aquinas finished with an 11-5 (8-1 WHAC) record in 2022 and made it as far as the NAIA National Tournament semifinals, falling to the eventual national champions in Reinhardt. A senior in the classroom and one more year of eligibility remaining, Boerigter currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.90 and is majoring in accounting.
To be eligible for the academic all-district team, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher on a scale of 4.00, and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at their respected institution. Boerigter will now move on to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot.
