As announced by the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference on Monday, (Sept. 5)
Theo Maye has been named the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week. This comes after Maye aided the Saints to two wins on the back of seven total points.
Â
On Wednesday, Aquinas hosted Saint Xavier for their home opener. Maye's first goal of the game came three minutes before the half when he found himself at the right place, scoring off his own rebound. He wouldn't be done for the night though as he found the back of the net once again in the 83rd minute to give the Saints the 3-1 victory over the Cougars.
Â
Then back in action on Saturday, the Saints welcomed the Knights of Marian University. Maye was able to find the back of the net early in the game when he scored at 15:17. The Saints would take this 1-0 lead into the half. Coming out of the half, Maye assisted
Liam Travers for the second of two goals at 48:34. AQ then played lock down defense to close out the game giving them the 2-0 victory.
Â
This is the first time in his career that Maye has been named the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Â
Maye and the rest of the Saints will travel to Bourbonnais, Illinois tomorrow (Sept. 6) for a matchup against Olivet Nazarene. The game will begin at 7:00 PM EST.
