Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas men's golf team geared up for their final days of play for the fall semester and made their way to the 12-team Egypt Valley Championship. A total of 72 competitors took to the course for this two-day contest on Oct. 16-17. The Saints would find themselves starting and finishing just past the middle of the pack and walked away with a seven place.
Each golfer completed three full rounds on the 72 par course. Making the competition par 216.
Senior
Matt Denhartigh shot an 86 on the first go, but would come back with two 70's placing him 12th individually by shooting 226.
Senior
Dominic Luciani would improve with each play through, with his best score of 74 for the competition. His 235 total awarded him 27th.
Sophomore
Anthony Lalomia battled the course and took 44th with a 241.
Sophomore
Johnny Vanderbaan was just two strokes behind Lalomia with a 243 and took 45th.
Freshman
Caleb Blackburn would be a single stroke behind Vanderbaan and notched himself in at 28th with a 244.
This was the final competition for the Aquinas men's golf program for this fall semester. The Saints will be back in action next semester for the spring season. Stay tuned for those details as those competitions are still to be determined.
