Lakeland, Fla. – The AQ men's basketball team fell behind early to a tough (10-2) Webber International team and trailed for the remainder of the game. The game ended with a final score of 89-63 in favor of the Warriors. AQ's busy Florida schedule ends with an 0-2 record after playing three games over the past four days.

Webber International 89, Aquinas 63

Andrew Larson scored AQ's first five points to kick off the game before a Webber International University jumper and three-pointer gave the home side a 9-5 advantage. Deandre Francis responded with a pair of free throws to narrow the deficit to just two points, but back-to-back threes from the Warriors put AQ down by eight quickly.

The next seven minutes were controlled by the Warriors as a 21-7 run gave the home side a commanding 30-14 lead with 6:30 remaining on the first-half clock. Ryan Weir went on a five-point run, but WIU continued to exert its pressure and entered the locker room with a 42-25 lead.

Webber International started the second half with a pair of jumpers, but a jumper from Menalito McGee, a three from Jared Lary, and a layup from Jared Dugener brought the score to 46-32. The two sides continued to pace each other on the scoreboard, but AQ couldn't quite get the run going that it needed. With the time winding down in the second half, the Warriors began to pull away and ended the game with a 26-point lead.
