The men's track and field team kept busy today competing both at home in the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and down the road at the GVSU Big Meet Invitational. The Saints walk away with another school record and several NAIA Qualifying Times

Nathan Iacona continues to impress in his freshman season, besting his own school record in the 400 Meter Dash by a margin of a tenth of a second when he crossed the line with a time of 48.78. He continues to inch closer to an automatic qualifier.

The second highlight for the Saints comes from the men's 800-meter run. Senior,
Will Finch ran a time of 1:53.56 to upgrade his previous provisional mark to an automatic standard. He now ranks fifth in Aquinas history. He knocks off
Nick Thelen's time of 1:53.94 from 2012.
Caleb Hodgkinson was tenths of a second behind Finch from another heat with a time of 1:53.85.

Sophomore
Jacob Tenbusch was less than a second away from breaking into AQ's all-time top five in the 600 with a time of 1:23.

Many Saints were racing early this morning in the 5K. The meet saw 10 heats of the event today.
Connor Callahan was the highest finisher for the Saints finishing with a time of 15:07.
Ethan Barker and
Andrew Ireland competed in the tenth heat of the event and finished first and second with personal bests. Barker won his heat with a time of 15:22 while Ireland was behind him with a time of 15:30.

Back at home
Jesunifemi Ojutalayo continues to make history in the jumps. He hit an NAIA 'A' Standard in the long jump going for 7.16 meters (23-06"). This now places him fifth on the AQ's all-time record board, knocking Derek Sandahl's mark from 2000 off.

Nate White continues to lead AQ in the 60-meter dash. After advancing to finals in the event, he placed second with a time of 6.97. He beats his personal best by .02 seconds.

Jonah Maichele would form a gap in the final laps of the men's mile to give him the victory with a time of 4:30. He would return in the 3000 Meter Run winning the event again. He was followed up by
Edward Frey in the 3K.

AQ returns to action tomorrow for Day 2 of the GVSU Big Meet. Competition is scheduled throughout the Day.
