In the first weekend of men's lacrosse action, the Saint earned their first conference player of the week award of the season. Starting off this year for AQ is graduate student,
Jon Jardis as the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week. This comes after Jardis scored 13 points over two games with five goals and eight assists.
On Friday the Saints took on #10 Webber International, where Jardis would have three points. His first point would come from an assist at 14:45 in the third quarter. Later in the fourth he would have another assist at 6:05, before netting a goal of his own at 1:04.
Then on Sunday, Jardis would have one of the most stellar performances of his career, when AQ took on Clarke University. Throughout the dominant Aquinas performance, Jardis recorded four goals and six assists for a total of 10 points. In the first quarter, he would already record a hat trick while assisting on four other goals.
Jon Jardis and the rest of the Saints will gear up for their home opener this week when they welcome #5 Saint Ambrose to the AQ Athletic Field. The home opener will take place on Sunday, March 5 at 2:00 PM.
