No. 7 Men's Lacrosse Handily Defeats No. 8 Tennessee Wesleyan

Athens, Tennessee - The seventh ranked men's lacrosse team made the trek down to Athens, Tennessee for a top ten matchup against the eighth ranked Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs. AQ left Tennessee with the statement victory, as the final score read 13-6.
 
AQ struck first and quickly today when Kevin LaHaie netted the Saints first goal of the game at 14:27 unassisted. Zachary Sweet would return to the Saints line up today and score 44 seconds after LaHaie at 13:43 being assisted by Nico Kittredge. The Bulldogs would net their first goal of the game at 11:30 before Mitch Haggart would have two goals for the Saints. These would come at 9:28 and 5:13 as he was unassisted on both. LaHaie would put one more through the goal posts before the quarter ended, being assisted by Jon Jardis at :27. This was the Saints highest scoring quarter as they left with a 5-1 lead.
 
The Saints would score even quicker in the second quarter with a goal at 14:50 on a man up opportunity. This would come from Zachary Sweet. After his assist, at the end of the first quarter, Jon Jardis would score his first goal of the contest at 13:31 on a pass from Mitch Haggart. Next, Haggart would earn his third goal of the game at 9:10 thanks to an assist from Tim Shacklette. Kittredge would score another for the Saints at 3:26 as the Saints entered the half up 9-1.

Both teams would come out of the half with a defensive mindset, as Haggart would score the only game of the quarter at 11:35. In the fourth quarter, the bulldogs would outscore AQ 5-3 but the margin of points already accrued was too much to bear for the Bulldogs. The Saints three goals would come from Jardis, Kittredge, and Sweet as AQ would upset the eighth ranked Bulldogs 13-6.

Clayton Boerigter would play all sixty minutes in net for AQ accruing 10 saves and six goals against him.

Haggart would lead in goals (4), assists (2) and thus in points with six. Boerigter would record four ground balls while Cam Gunn would have three.

The men will continue their battle against top-ten opponents when they square off against fifth ranked Reinhardt. The contest takes place on Saturday, March 18 at 12:00 PM in Waleska, Georgia
