Waleska, GA - The men's lacrosse team was in action today when competing against another top ten opponent in the No. 5 Reinhardt Eagles. The Saints were able to keep the game close, but a high scoring fourth quarter for the Eagles would prove too much for AQ. AQ now sits 3-3 this season.
AQ would strike first in the contest with a goal only four seconds into the game.
Brady Waling found the back of the net after an assist from
Mitch Haggart. Then after a Reinhardt goal,
Nico Kittredge would score on an assist from
Kevin LaHaie at 13:36. Two more Eagles goals would give them the 3-2 leads after the first quarter.
LaHaie would find Kittredge again at 12:25 of the second to tie the game at 3. After another opponent's goal, the Saints would have two man-up goals from
Zachary Sweet and Haggart to give AQ the 5-4 lead. A trio of goals would give Reinhardt the lead before the half, as they lead 7-5.
After halftime, the Saints struggled to find momentum as they were outscored 10-3. Two goals for AQ came in the third from LaHaie and Haggart, and the one AQ goal in the fourth would come from LaHaie on an assist from
Dean Cooper.
Clayton Boerigter would play most of the game in net recording 14 Saves and 17 goals against him.
Ricky Vega would enter in the final two minutes and record one save.
LaHaie lead in points with two goals and three assists. Kittredge and Haggart both scored twice as well.
Noah Szarejko would grab five ground balls for the Saints.
