Grand Rapids, Michigan - This evening, the women's lacrosse team faced off against the Madonna Crusaders in their second conference matchup of the season. The first quarter saw the Saints score 10 goals en route to handily defeating the Crusaders 20-6. AQ improves to 5-1 overall this season and 2-0 in the conference.

AQ would average more than a goal a minute for the first eight minutes of the quarter.
Trinity Reynoso would begin the scoring party this evening with a goal at 13:20 before
Kennadie Minerich would score her first goal of the evening at 13:08. With this score, Kennadie would net her 100th career goal during her time at Aquinas. Reynoso and Minerich would double down scoring AQ's next goals.
Shaylin Rings would score next for the Saints with her first goal of the game at 11:09. Minerich would be the first Saint to notch a hat trick this evening at 10:02 before
Cierra Davis had her first goal of the game at 8:04. Reynoso would score two more times in the quarter before
Stella Bottum would score to give the Saints a ten-goal lead. This would allow the clock to run unless the Crusaders could cut the goal differential to under ten.

The second quarter would be the quietest with three goals between the two teams. Davis and
McKenna Burke would score the two AQ goals, before Madonna would get on the score board. Their goal for Madonna would come with :49 seconds left in the quarter on a man up opportunity. AQ would lead 12-1 heading into the half.

Both teams would score three times coming out of the half. Rings would score twice for AQ and Minerich would also net one goal. In the final quarter, AQ would outscore their opponents 5-2. Goals would come from Bottum (2), Rings (2), and
Lauren Hansen as the Saints walked away with the 20-6 victory.Â

Azariah Wells would play the first quarter in goal for the Saints and was able to save the one shot on goal.
Kennedy Stilson would play the remaining three quarters for AQ and accumulated seven saves and had six goals against her.

Shaylin Rings would lead the team in goals with five followed by
Kennadie Minerich and
Trinity Reynoso with four.
Stella Bottum also accumulated at hat trick tonight. Reynoso would also lead the team in ground balls with five.

AQ returns to action this Saturday, March 25 for another conference matchup against Lourdes. The women play at 2:00 PM at the AQ Athletic Field in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
