Grand Rapids, MI - The women's lacrosse team opened their season this evening in a home contest against the Albion Britons. AQ walked away with the 16-5 victory after sixty minutes of play that saw six Saints score as the women now stand 1-0 on the season.

The Saints drew first blood in tonight's contest with
Trinity Reynoso scoring AQ's first goal of the season at 12:33. The two schools would trade goals for the next three minutes with AQ's next goal coming from
Kennadie Minerich on a man up opportunity. Minerich would assist on two more goals this quarter; the first going to
Cierra Davis at 3:53 and the second to
McKenna Burke at 3:16.

AQ would shut down the Britons in the second period while scoring two goals of their own. Davis would score first at 13:34 while Minerich would net her second goal at 8:27. Both were unassisted. Â AQ would enter the half up 6-2.

AQ would dominate the second half outscoring Albion 10-2. Minerich would have a hat trick in this half alone, with two goals coming in the fourth.
Trinity Reynoso would have two goals with one being on a man up opportunity and the second when they were down a Saint.
Stella Bottum would have her first and second goal of her young career scoring at 11:56 and 8:08 of the fourth quarter.
Niya Couch would also score her first career goal at 3:46, and
Lauren Hansen would net one more goal for AQ with time expiring on the clock.

In goal,
Azariah Wells occupied the net for most of the night. She was able to save an incredible 18 shots while only allowing 3 goals.
Kennedy Stilson would enter the net in the fourth and total three saves and three goals against.

AQ returns to action on Saturday, March 11 when they head to Williamsburg, Kentucky for a matchup against No. 6 Cumberlands. The game is set to begin at 2:00 PM
