Women's Lacrosse Tops Siena Heights 21-12 in Regular Season Finale

Adrian, Michigan - The women's lacrosse team traveled to Adrian, Michigan for their final regular season game of the 2023 season. They faced off against the Saints of Siena Heights today and took home the 21-12 victory. The women now have a 11-2 record and 8-1 conference record as they prepare for the WHAC Tournament.
 
The Saints started hot as Cierra Davis drew first blood in today's game with a goal at 12:29. Kennadie Minerich would score twice then at 9:37 and 2:37. Her second goal came on a man up, free position shot. AQ had three goals in the final minute and a half. Minerich assisted Shaylin Rings at 1:23 to give AQ the 4-0 lead. Alex Sullivan then capitalized on an opportunity provided by Sophia Schmader. Trinity Reynoso put the Saints up 6-0 on a free position shot with thirty seconds left in the quarter. Azariah Wells played the first quarter in goal for the Saints and recorded four saves and zero goals against her.
 
The Saints of Siena would attempt to mount a comeback in the second quarter with four consecutive goals in the first eight minutes. With Siena closing in, AQ put their foot on the gas scoring six goals in seven minutes. Stella Bottum nailed the first goal at 7:07 and was followed up by free position goals from Brianna Trepins and Minerich. Davis hit her second goal of the day at 4:29, while Minerich continued her day with two more goals to end the half up 12-4.
 
Siena would outscore the Saints in the third quarter 4-3 but AQ still maintained heavy control. AQ's three goals came from McKenna Burke, Davis, and Sullivan. Burke and Sullivan's goals came on free position shots.
 
AQ scored six times to Siena's four in the final quarter to solidify the 21-12 win. The goals came by way of Bottum (2), Rings (2), Minerich, and Reynoso.
 
In the later three quarters, Kennedy Stilson stood guard in net. She had six saves and eight goals against her. Kennadie Minerich led in goals and assists with six and four, while Rings, Davis, and Bottum all recorded a hat trick.
 
AQ now waits for the seedings of the WHAC Tournament to release. The conference tournament runs from Tuesday, April 18 to Saturday April 22.
