Grand Rapids, Michigan - The men's and women's track and field, looked like a field team today at the Davenport Tune Up when competing in only field events. The Saints competed in all field events today other than the Triple Jump, Shot Put and Discus which will be completed tomorrow.

In the first event of the day,
Shaily Baynes was the highest finisher for AQ in the pole vault. She finished second with a final vault of 3.31 meters. She was joined by
Jordan Brown who placed eighth. She vaulted 2.66 meters.

Kaylee Diamond had an impressive double in the long and high jump. First up in the high jump, Diamond placed second with her finishing height of 1.59 meters. Isn the long jump she took third overall, landing 5.35 meters from the board. Right behind Diamond in the event was Han jumping 5.04 meters to place fourth. Finally in the event was
Alexis Furgason placing ninth.

The highest finisher from the throwing events came by way of
Emily Jones in the javelin. She took home fourth place throwing the jav 31.89 meters.

Wrapping up with another throwing event,
Kaydence Richardson was AQ's top finisher in the the hammer throw. She placed seventh with 44.67 meters.

Men

The Saints best cumulative event came in the high jump.
Jacob Dawson finished second with a jump of 1.86 meters, only a quarter of an inch below his personal best.
Casey Mathieu would then tie his personal best taking fourth at 1.81 meters.
Jacob Merryfield finished fifth also jumping 1.81 meters.

In the long jump,
Jesunifemi Ojutalayo took second for the Saints. He jumped 6.85 meters in the event.

Then in the pole vault, the Farage brothers each vaulted 3.73 meters to tie for ninth.

Finally in the throws,
Tennessee Miller took 14th in the javelin, and
Brendan Madej took 19th in the hammer throw.

AQ returns to action tomorrow with Day 2 of the Davenport Tune Up and the GVSU Extra-Weekend Meet. The GVSU meet begins at 6:00 PM, while Davenport takes place all day.
