Grand Rapids, Michigan - The women's lacrosse team celebrated three seniors this afternoon prior to facing off against the Bethel Pilots for their seventh conference game of the 2023 season. Despite the Pilots tying the game in the second half, AQ bested their opponents 20-10.

AQ has an overall record of 9-1 and conference record of 7-0.

Shaylin Rings was the first member of the team to score today at 12:55. She was followed thirty seconds later by senior,
Lauren Hansen. A goal from Bethel came next before Hansen scored again at 9:13. After one more Pilot goal, AQ scored three times before the quarters end.
Alex Sullivan hit first at 4:44, followed by
Stella Bottum at 1:51.
Kennadie Minerich then netted her first of the game before the quarters end at :07.

Bethel outscored Aquinas in the second quarter 4-2. Aquinas's two goals came first by way of
Cierra Davis on a man-up opportunity and then
Shaylin Rings. AQ would head to the half with an 8-6 lead.

To start the second half, Bethel had three goals to AQ's one in the first eleven minutes. The two teams would be tied at nine at 3:56. In the final two and a half minutes AQ would find a way to score four times to separated them from Bethel. Goals in this quarter came from Davis, Reynoso (2), and Minerich (2).

The Saints would finish off Bethel in the final quarter with seven goals to one. AQ moved the ball around with six different scorers. These would come from Davis (2), Sullivan, Minerich,
McKenna Burke, Rings, and Bottum.

Azariah Wells played the full game in net for the Saints recording eight saves and ten goals against her.
Cierra Davis and
Kennadie Minerich each had four goals in today's contest. Minerich would then have six assists for 10 points.
Alexis Villarini led with seven ground balls, While
Brianna Trepins and
Carli Taylor each had five caused turnovers. Senior
Emma Waris would finish with two ground balls.

AQ looks ahead to Wednesday, April 12, to their toughest test of the 2023 campaign when they face off against No. 3 Lawrence Tech Blue Devils. The top ten matchup begins at 6:00 PM at the AQ Athletic Field.
