Kalamazoo, Michigan - The men's track and field team hit the road on Saturday, April 8 for the Jack Shaw Invitational hosted by Western Michigan. The Saints were represented well throughout the meet and walked away with five event wins.

All the events winners for the Saints came from sprint events. Beginning in the 100 Dash,
Nate White captured first place behind his 10.88. He won the event by .12 seconds.
Cyrus Prudhomme and
Yussuf Abdullahi took fourth and fifth in the event. Prudhomme would return at the end of the meet winning the 200 dash. He did so by a margin of .07 seconds with his time of 22.36. Â Then Prudhomme, White, Abullahi, and
Chris Jandernoa would make up the 4x100 relay, beating Chicago State with a time of 42.31 seconds.

AQ would capture both the Hurdle events thanks to
Jake Van Tassell. In the 110 Hurdles, He would edge out a Cornerstone Athlete to claim the victory in 15.13 seconds. Then in the 400 Hurdles, he would best eight other athletes to earn the victory. He did so with a time of 55.07.

On the throws side of things,
John Van Til was the highest finisher in any of the events. This came when he took second in the discus with a throw of 40.36 meters. He would then take sixth in the shot put, sitting right behind
Thomas Bearden. The duo threw for 11.99 meters and 11.87 meters.

Finally in the high jump,
Jacob Dawson had the best finish for AQ. He placed third with his final height of 1.85 meters.

The Saints will busy next weekend competing in three different states. Each begins on Friday, April 14. The Saints will first be competing at the Don Kleinow Invitational in Adrian, Michigan. Next, the Life University Open takes place in Marietta, Georgia. Finally, a group of Saints will travel to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania for the Bison Outdoor Classic.
